  1. I’m from a much larger city and most books I’ve searched for in ur data base I can’t find….is there a way to put in a request so they may be sent from another library?

    • Sorry I didn’t get with you quicker. Follow the following directions to download the Overdrive app, which is what you need to use your device. Then use the instructions to check-out ebooks. Your card is active so you just use the number starting 405….
      Installing Free Overdrive Media Console App
      Instructions for most tablet devices and smart phones, except Kindles

      Go to your device’s App Store, search for Overdrive Media Console, and download (must put in Apple Store password). Open Overdrive app; sign up for Overdrive One Account to sync devices, then scroll to your library and tap to select it. Make sure you tap on the star next to the eIndiana Digital Consortium to save.
      Next, you will need to set up a free Adobe account to run Overdrive (This page will automatically appear after selecting the library). You will need to enter a valid email address and create a password, then tap “create account”. It will take about 30-60 seconds for the account to become active. Then, enter the email and password and tap “authorize”. The screen should change to read “this app is authorized… (patron’s email).” Hit the back button to the menu screen.
      Then, tap on “get books” or “eIndiana Digital Consortium” depending on the device. You will be directed to the consortium website. Look for the sign-in button, located in the upper right hand corner of the screen, and tap on it. When signing in for the first time, you will need to select the library and then enter your library card number. Before signing in, make sure to check the box below the sign-in button to save the card information for the future, and then proceed with tapping the sign-in button.
      Once signed in, tap on the account icon. Then tap on the settings icon. This screen allows you to select your preferred checkout period of 7 or 14 days. If this is not changed, it automatically defaults to 7 day checkouts. Make sure to tap “save” before exiting this screen. You are now ready to check out books. Tap on the menu button to select a subject or use the search button to locate a specific book.
      Overdrive will send you an email asking you to authorize your account. Follow the instructions in your email. Use email and password you used to set up Overdrive account at the beginning of these instructions. Any questions, call us at 457-3022.

      1. Once you are signed in, you may search for a book of your choice or browse genres and sections for various titles. If you want to find out more about the book, tap the cover or title to be taken to a page with a summary, a list of recommended books based on that title, and a sample. To go back to the page, either tap the arrow at the bottom of the screen or the menu button at the top of the page.
      2. To borrow a book, tap on the cover or title. Look at fine print below the “Borrow” button and see for how long the book can be kept and make sure it is for the length you wish.
      3. Click “Borrow”. Either select “Download” and then select the right format for your device or select “Read (in your browser)”. If you select “Download” then you must then select “Confirm and Download”. It will give you a message saying “title added”.
      4. Click the menu button at the top left of the screen or swipe to the right. Tap on “Bookshelf” and your title should be there waiting for you.
      5. Tap to begin reading or listening.
      6. To return a title, go to the “Bookshelf” section. Tap and hold on the cover. You will see three options: “Delete”, “Return”, or “Share”. You may be tempted to select “Delete” but that will only delete the title from your device but will not return it to the library. Tap “Return” and that will automatically delete it from your device.
