Syracuse Public Library strives to be an invaluable resource for the Syracuse-Turkey Creek Township community, connecting residents with technology, knowledge, and unique learning opportunities.

Patrons have access to the latest books, DVDs, magazines, audiobooks, and local newspapers. SPL can also order materials if they are not available in its collection.

With printing, scanning, and faxes; free public computers; free Wi-Fi; and Wi-Fi hotspot checkouts, SPL is closing the technology gap in our community, ensuring small businesses, entrepreneurs, and residents can access the internet and equipment needed for success.

Notary Public

Robert Rensberger with notary stamp
Syracuse Public Library has two available notaries: Executive Director Jon Gaskill and Robert Rensberger. Both can notarize documents for community members for free when they are present at the library. Email Robert schedule an appointment so you don't miss him.

Note: Robert and Jon are not attorneys licensed to practice law in Indiana.  They are not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration, or charge a fee for those activities.

Libraries With Heart

Blood Pressure Monitor Kit
Patrons can now check out blood pressure monitor kits for two weeks at the Syracuse Public Library with their library cards. Each kit includes American Heart Association-guided materials on how to take your blood pressure at home, what the numbers mean, a log for recording numbers and a list of local health care providers ready to answer questions. Place a hold on a kit using our catalog.

Never Easier To Use The Library

Homebound Delivery

A homebound delivery bag ready to be delivered.
A library staff member will visit you if you qualify for the Homebound program (you must have difficulty coming to the library temporarily or permanently) and bring you materials (books, movies, magazines, and/or audiobooks).

You can download an application Download a PDF homebound application here,  or pick up a paper copy at the library. Bring it back to the library or mail it to
115 E. Main St., Syracuse, IN 46567. A family member can also do so. Call SPL at (574) 457-3022 if you have questions.

Anytime Locker Pickup

Just can't make it to the library before we close? Call the library at (574) 457-3022, and request an Anytime Locker Pickup. Tell us what you want, we'll collect it, check it out to you, and place it in a designated locker for you to pick up at your earliest convenience.

You will use the last four digits of your library card to open your locker and then place the opened lock in our media drop box.

Curbside Pickup

Want to schedule a quick pick up and grab? Call the library at (574) 457-3022 with a list of materials you want and a rough time frame of when you will pick them up. We will check out the materials and have them ready to go.

Pull up along the Harrison Street door and call us when you arrive. We will bring the materials down so you never have to leave your car.

Check Out Board Games and Card Games

Syracuse Public Library patrons can now check out board and cards games!

Patrons can check them out for two weeks at a time without renewals. You can also place holds on them via Evergreen to pick them up at the Syracuse Public Library.


Once done, double check pieces are properly stowed before returning the games inside the library. Please do not return games in the outside drop box! Games also cannot be returned to other Evergreen libraries.

Sarah holds Elkhart County Park Pass
Syracuse Public Library has an Elkhart County Park pass that patrons can check out for three days to Ox Bow Park for free.

Check out this park pass at the upstairs circulation desk!
Puzzles on shelf

Puzzle Exchange

SPL offers an ongoing puzzle exchange upstairs. Bring a puzzle to share with others and take a puzzle to enjoy yourself!
