The entire family can come meet Kosciusko County’s heroes at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 28. This Syracuse Public Library event will occur at the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Dr., Syracuse.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office will demonstrate their K-9 units. Additionally, officers with the Syracuse Police Department and an Indiana State trooper will answer questions about their jobs. The Turkey Creek Fire Territory will also bring a fire truck and ambulance, with its members sharing what it’s like being a firefighter or EMS technician. Sign-up begins for those interested in volunteering with the Syracuse Public Library to clean a segment of the Syracuse-Wawasee Trail. The Syracuse Public Library has adopted a small segment of the 12-mile Syracuse-Wawasee Trail and is now seeking volunteers to keep it maintained. Adults and teens are invited to join us in this endeavor to keep our community looking beautiful while enjoying some outdoor time.
Since both organizations are nonprofits, time spent helping do qualify for volunteer hours. If you're interested in volunteering, please leave your name and availability to join SPL's trail team either at the library or by contacting Becky at [email protected] or (574) 457-3022.
