Predict how many books you can read in the nine months from Jan. 1, 2022 to Sept. 30, 2022, during the "My Voyage Begins" reading challenge. There's a 15 book minimum to join the challenge, and the last day for sign up is June 30, 2022.

Sign up by leaving a challenge slip with your name and phone number at the Syracuse Public Library. You can also sign up by emailing Katie (kmoran@syracuse.lib.in.us). There's no penalty for missing your goal, so either play it safe by picking an easily attainable number of books or challenge yourself with an optimistic goal.

The books you read can come from the library, Libby, and Hoopla, or be books loaned from a friend or bought from a bookstore or a Friends used book sale. Listen to audiobooks on CDs, Amazon streaming, or wherever you connect with a book. Try something new, such as read a graphic novel, which can be a fun way to explore history or enjoy a great story.

Record your books. You can keep a record of the book titles, author, and optional comments either with our help or anyway you choose. Request that Katie send you a Google Docs link via email, ask Becky for a paper reading log, or use your own notebook. Goodreads has a reading list that lets you record your books as does Overdrive. You can even print out a receipt of your items checked out and save that. You are responsible for having a tally of your books at the end of the September.

The Syracuse Public Library wants to have a party with food and prizes in October. COVID-19 got in the way in 2021, but we had some fabulous prize choice. We plan to have equally wonderful prizes again.

Find cruise mates to join the voyage and take the reading challenge!
