March is going to be hopping for kids with a lot of fun programming planned! Homeschool ProgramSchool-aged children will learn about soapmaking with Miss Shelly at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4! Miss Shelly will lead a demonstration on how to make bath bubble bars. Then each of the following Fridays in March, children will explore musical instruments, receiving hands-on experience! Along the way, there just might be a few surprises planned. The last Homeschool Program meeting on Friday, March 25, will be a field trip to Sweetwater in Fort Wayne. This field trip requires registration, which is available online (register each adult and child attending separately so we don't go over our limit). Those registered to attend should plan to arrive at Sweetwater (5501 US-30 West, Fort Wayne, IN 46818) 15-10 minutes before the tour begins at 10 a.m. The tour is expected to last until 12:15 p.m., and then children and their adults can enjoy lunch at Downbeat Diner (cafeteria) or Crescendo Cafe (espresso and baked goods). Another option is to pack you own lunch. Space is very limited for this field trip so register as soon as possible. Build Leprechaun Traps!Children will also want to register to build their very own leprechaun traps at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17. During this STEM-based activity, children will create and design their very own traps, deciding which style of trap will best capture a leprechaun while using the copious supplies that will be available. Register online ahead of the event so we know how many to expect. Snacks will be available! Storytimes ContinueWacky & Wiggly Storytime meets at 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday. Come dressed for a messy good time filled with friends and stories.
Friday Storytime is also at 10:30 a.m. This storytime, which occurs in conjunction with the Homeschool Program, is filled with stories, dance, and play.
